Abstract
Public enterprise for coastal zone management in Montenegro, as an authority in charge of bathing water management in Montenegrin coast, realizes specific monitoring programs of bathing water quality on 110 public beaches during the summer season. Program is in accordance with the new Rule book on the manner and deadlines for the implementation of measures to ensure the preservation, protection and improvement of bathing water quality (Official Gazette of Montenegro, No. 028/19 from 23.05.2019). According to the Article 8 of the Rule book, bathing waters are categorised as "excellent", "good", "sufficient" and "bad". Standards for evaluation of coastal waters quality after taking each sample are as follows: Parameter Measuring units: Intestinal enterococci/100 ml: Excellent <60, Good 61-100, Sufficient 101-200; Escherichia coli/100 ml: Excellent <100, Good 101-200, Sufficient 201-300; Data were taken from the official Public enterprise for coastal zone management database (update 2020).
